SEATTLE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL – PUBLICITY INTERNSHIP
The 37th Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) is currently seeking interns to join our publicity team. Interns will work closely with Festival publicists, guests, programming staff, and marketing departments to strategically raise awareness about SIFF–the largest and most highly attended film festival in the nation–as well as to gain valuable skills in film publicity, press screenings, special event management, interview coordination, press clipping, and more. SIFF is one of Seattle’s most important cultural events, screening more than 400 films each year, bringing in more than 300 special guests from around the world, and serving more than 150,000 participants annually.
The Festival runs from May 19 through June 12. Interns will be asked to start in April and stay through June 20. We are looking for students that can work a minimum of 10 hours a week and as many as 20 hours per week. Interested applicants should have strong communication and writing skills, as well as knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of Filemaker Pro, Photoshop, web interaction is encouraged. Interest in film and special events is also encouraged. This position is unpaid. Work will start at the Festival’s main office in South Lake Union, and then move downtown to the W Hotel.
