Freelance Writer Needed
The Community Center for Education Results, the nonprofit supporting the Road Map Project (http://www.roadmapproject.org/), is looking for a freelance writer to contribute to an upcoming report about education in South Seattle and South King County. Specifically, we need an experienced writer who can craft short, impactful features called “Bright Spots” that highlight educational successes in the region.

This is a freelance, work remotely position.
At least 3 years professional writing experience
Ability to take concepts/ideas and develop them into meaingful pieces
Ability to travel to sites across South Seattle and South King County to conduct interviews
Ability to review and integrate data into stories
Ability to take photographs at sites for inclusion in report
Ability to meet deadlines and respond to feedback/editing
Outstanding spelling and grammar skills
The freelance writer will research, write and submit 200- to 300-word “Bright Spots” for an upcoming Road Map Project report. A successful candidate may be asked to continue contributing to the report. Work can (and probably should) begin immediately.
